Help from my Peeps?

I've been on the internet all afternoon, trying to decide what type of washer to buy. I've read reviews, looked at specifications, second guessed everything. When it comes down to it, I guess I don't trust reviews from people I don't know. However, I know my blog friends will never lie and have (unfortunately) LOTS of combined laundry experience. So, I'm throwing it out to you. If you have experience with a front load washer, please send me your advice. I'm looking at the Whirlpool Duet, Bosch 500, and LG. D o you love one of these or hate one? Is there something better? What about steam? Do you have it? Do you need it?

I just went through this last month Audrey... we drove to Ogden 3 times to check out places and washers etc. Just so you know.. Whirlpool makes Maytag and Kenmore so they are basically the same thing. My mom, two sister in laws, and friend all have the Whirlpool Duet and LOVE LOVE them. No problems whatso ever one has had hers two years. When I went to Sears Kenmores were on sale and had the steam feature I wanted just because my husbands clothes are either greasy or have crap on them. Stains are big in this house. Between the rebates and 15% off I saved over $400. I LOVE mine. I wasn't sure about the front load at first but it has grown on me. My clothes are so so much cleaner and it is amazing how much you can cram in there. Also how little soap you use with the HE kind you have to buy. Hope this helps.

I still have my old washer - 10+ years. But, it has been my experience that too many bells and whistles just cost money to maintain and when the stuff breaks - which it will, cause they make cheap parts to make money - think about each feature you really want/need. My mom has a front loader and the dry time is awesome, esp since the washer uses less water. Check into the warranties too. My freezer, only 2 years old. The ice machine just broke and had to be replaced for $300 bucks. The new one has a much longer warranty than the original - this is how they make money!

i have the maytag front loaders. i love them and they use less water than regular washer's. go green! get a cool color! i think steam would be awesome. the less ironing the better. also get the stands so you don't have to bend over all the time.
fyi i didn't have them fix the doors to swing open the correct way. when they deliver make them switch that doors so they both open to the outside. it makes switching from washer to dryer so much easier

Hey Audrey,

I bought the Bosch 500 because the salesman told me it was the best. I hated it and practically gave it away. My wash load would take two hours and didn;t clean it that well. So Now I went back to the good old fashioned top loads! Amber
